Jerry Garner

Jerry Garner serves as the police chief for the City of Corinth.  The author of 13 books and over 200 magazine articles on law enforcement and leadership topics, Chief Garner is a 51-year veteran of law enforcement.  Prior to coming to Corinth in 2019, he served for 12 years as chief of police for Greeley, Colorado, a city of over 100,000 residents.  Before that he served for 30 years with the Lakewood, Colorado Police Department, an agency known for producing law enforcement leaders.  (Jerry was the 64th Lakewood officer to take a police chief job.)  Jerry and his wife Kathy reside in Shady Shores.  Chief Garner’s off-duty interests include World War II and Texas history.  He also has instructed around the country on policing topics, including two appearances at the FBI National Academy at Quantico, Virginia.  He holds a bachelor's degree in Journalism and a master’s in Administration of Justice.  His interest in Lake Cities Focus is intended, he sates, to help young people find their way and become successful citizens before they are sidetracked into less-desirable pursuits.  He is also always seeking young, future applicants for a law enforcement career.
